“Every act of creation begins first with an act of destruction”

– Pablo Picasso

Along life’s journey, you will meet people who will (with or without your permission) speak into your future. They speak about your life, relationships, career, hopes and dreams. They do it because you have allowed them an intimate glimpse into you (your family and friends) or because they feel they have a right (the world). What you do with that information is upto you.

Information processing starts with input from the sensory organs, which transform physical stimuli such as touch, heat, sound waves, or photons of light into electrochemical signals. Once information is processed to a degree, an attention filter decides how important the signal is and which cognitive processes it should be made available to. n order for the brain to process information, it must first be stored. Once stored, memories eventually must be retrieved from storage. Remembering past events is not like watching a recorded video. It is, rather, a process of reconstructing what may have happened based on the details the brain chose to store and was able to recall. I say all of the above to say this … Everything you have ever encountered from a sensory perspective: how someone looked at you, the scent of a perfume, the taste of a meal, the pain of a broken bone, the sound of music in your ears, a specific hue of a particular color – all this has been stored somewhere in order of importance, all of your life. Then one day you suddenly wake up and decide that you’re going to build something great. And guess what? all those voices from your childhood and teenage years and young adulthood and yesteryears converge to tell you that you never will. Or that you must do things how they have always been done. Or that you must break the rules. Well you know what? I say forget the rules. Break every single one in the book. Go big or go home. Safe is the new failure. Nothing great was every built by following the rules. All the great men and women out there did it by breaking every single rule in the book and believing in the power of their dreams. Today I challenge you to dream big. And when you’re done dreaming, step out of your comfort zone, destroy every safe thing you have ever known, and build something amazing – from scratch. Something outside of the normal. Something mind blowing. Something Beautiful. Because Beauty is not just in the eye of the beholder, but in the hands of he who holds the biggest dream and is brave enough to go after them.
