Earlier this week I spent a good hour talking to my mentor and just gleaning from him. He is one of a handful of people who leave me uplifted and gazing far into the future after we had spoken, plotting and planning on how to reach the sky. On that list is also my spiritual father and mother and my biological parents. They have a way of putting things in an eternal perspective that allows me to stop making permanent decisions in my life based on temporary situations in my seasons. It’s very refreshing. When I look at what they all overcame to be where they are in God’s plan for their lives, regardless of their level and measure of success, one things becomes crystal clear: there is a price to be paid for your calling and anointing, regardless of your measure of success or how you define it.
Later in the week I sat down with a team to strategize and map out the next phase of Beautiful Petals and what it will take to get there. We had been pondering on the vision, the end game, the goal, what it was God needs to achieve through this beautiful network that has grown so fast and keeps growing. At first I couldn’t describe it. Didn’t know how it looked and was too scared to look hard because I was nervous about the answer I would get. But today things are clearer. Beautiful Petals started as a very small and very private idea to give me an avenue to write and express myself. It has since spread its wings and is beginning to fly.
Beautiful Petals is about Healing, Restoration, Growth and Empowerment. It’s about seeing ordinary things one way but watching them grow and evolve and become and finally bringing them forth in seven different directions of light. It’s about allowing you to be you and me to be me, each one uniquely beautiful.
Beautiful Petals is about allowing the liquid light in you to flow and touch the lives of others and encourage them through whatever it is they are going through. It’s about collectively allowing our little lights to light up not a room, or a hall, but the entire world. It’s about letting my light shine upon your dark moments long enough to give you the strength to face today and the courage to discover your tomorrow so that you can then let your little light shine on someone else’s darkness.
We have so much to offer one another that we dare not stop shining or smiling. The longer we smile, the harder we shine, the further we get. Some days will be harder than others and some days will feel lonelier than others, but ultimately I must shine my shine for the generations that depend on me to survive and in turn shine their shine.
So the next phase of shining our shine is one in which we meet face to face. I have been absolutely overwhelmed and inundated with love and support online. I’d like to meet face to face and put a name to a face, spend some time and hear from your hearts. I want to hear your stories and begin to write about them and show the world what it really means to be a Beautiful Petal. So in the next month, we will have our first ever Beautiful Petals WOOHOO get together. The where, the when, and the whatever else will be communicated to you in the next few days. In the meantime, keep smiling, keep shining, keep on being a Beautiful Petal and bringing light to the darkness around you.
