There’s an uncanny silence just before the dawn breaks. It’s like the eerie silence the moment right after the lights go out. Or the unimaginable silence right after you receive bad news. It stretches and yawns and pulls at your emotions and tugs at your heart. That’s the silence I have been in. In the Bible, that place is called Lo-Debar – The Place Of No Communication.
Sometimes in Lo-Debar, the silence is so loud it screams. Sometimes in Lo-Debar, the alone-ness is so pungent it knocks the breath out of you. And sometimes in Lo-Debar the uncertainty and confusion can make you lose focus of the assignment, turn your back on the journey and run back into the comfort of the familiar, the mundane, the yesterday.
Today as I sit here, the pin-drop silence and I have made peace. It simply means that I am seeing where I must go while not dwelling on where I have come from. This, I believe, is what is sometimes referred to as the point of perfect equilibrium or the pivotal point.
I have come full circle. I now see the assignment, I see the vision. It may not be 100% clear but it is clearer than it was yesterday. It may not carry as many people but for now it is carrying the exact number of people and the exact specific people who were meant to be right here, right now. It may not be the prettiest, but God didn’t call me for the pretty scenery. He called me to walk the path and speak the words.
Today, somebody somewhere needs to hear these words. Today, that somebody is me and that somewhere is in Lo-Debar.
[Isaiah 43:19The Voice (VOICE)]
19 Watch closely: I am preparing something new; it’s happening now,even as I speak,
and you’re about to see it. I am preparing a way through the desert;
Waters will flow where there had been none.
So for any of you still in the valley of the shadow – arise and shine. Morning has come. Pick up that baby in this 9th month of birthing and don’t stop running with that vision until you have nothing left in you to give!
