So I struggled a lot with the decision of whether or not to come back home to Kenya after going to school in the US. I mean everybody told me it was the land of opportunity and I did see a lot of opportunity but in the end the frustrations for me far outweighed the potential.
I landed in Kenya in December of 2002, bright eyed and bushy tailed, ready to take on the world. This December will mark 13years of me being back home and this is what I have to say.
Today I celebrate my Roots. I celebrate my African roots. I celebrate my Black African Roots. I celebrate my Thick Black African Roots.
Looking back, there is nowhere I would rather be than on this beautiful rich soulful cultureful continent and in what they call the #hotbed of so much – My Beloved Kenya.
I love this country and this soil for not only birthing me, but for what it has birthed in me over the past #almost4decades,
I love who I have become, I love the woman I have grown into, I love the passion this richness has nurtured and the creativity this thickness has cultured.
Today I celebrate me Africa – My Africa
Today I am #Proud2BKenyan
I am Beautiful – Empowered – Visionary
