Dream Africa, Dream #CPR4Africa

By September 19, 2014Uncategorized

I am a product of the soil from whence I rose. The rich, fragrant earth that gave me my chocolate skin. The red, copper earth out of which my dreams were birthed. I dream of an Africa which I can leave to my children. One free of corruption, one loosed from child mortality, one removed from child slavery and one devoid of political disease. I sing my song because it is only through my song and by my story that you too will be free from your past, free from the stereotypes. I tell my story because it is through my story that you will be able to remove the stench of the one that took your innocence in that one violent act of rape; they raped your mind and mangled your body and left you wounded, thinking you would never rise again. Today I came as a voice in the wilderness to tell you that although I do not know your pain, I see your tears and my heart bleeds for you. Today I came to tell you that your song will set another free. Your tale will let another loose. Your voice will be the voice of many and your tears will wash away another’s. You are a product of the soil from whence you rose. The rich, fragrant earth that gave you your chocolate skin. The red, copper earth out of which your dreams were birthed. You must begin to dream again, of an Africa which you can leave your child. You must allow the only one who ever really can to Cover, Preserve and Restore you – #CPR4Africa. Dream little African girl. DREAM Again. You are Beautiful – Empowered – Visionary You are @BeautifulPetal_
